This wine features Freisa, the historical variety of Langhe, Piedmont that is both powerful and spicy. The grapes are sourced from 15-20 year old vines and soft pressed, fermented over 10 days with temperature control, and aged for 1 year in large used French oak casks before bottling at a quantity of only 4,000 bottles/year. Floral notes of red rose and eucalyptus can be detected on the nose, along with red and black cherry, raspberry and sweet spices. Medium-bodied and persistent, this red has a high tannin content and great potential for aging. Drink with Chili con carne or barbecue ribs.
